Nadimac – Po Kratkom Postupku

Nadimac is a Serbian thrash metal/crossover band formed in Beograd in 2003. They have two full-length albums – Drzavni Neprijatelj Broj Kec (2009) and Po Kratkom Postupku (2011). They have proven to be one of the best Serbian bands due to their ability to capture the spirit of oldschool thrash metal and combining it the best way with punk-like screams and thus satisfying the thirst for good music for wider range of fans.
Po Kratkom Postupku managed to capture my attention from the first time I’ve listened to it. It’s fast, it’s full of energy and it promises crazy fun if played live and for as far as I’m concerned this is one of the things thrash metal is about. Again like I’ve said earlier they have managed to dive into the oldschool Bay Area sound but rather than just stick to it, they have combined it with some crossover-punk elements followed by a Kreator like manner of playing. Most of the songs are in Serbian which in my opinion is a big advantage in the album especially considering the fact that I am a huge lover of thrash in any Slavonic language.
However, not everything is perfect. Compared to the previous album there is hardly anything new or paradigm breaking. Although the album starts with raising gradation in the songs that somehow promises, if not something revolutionary at least something fresher if I might say, after Samo Kec it reaches a pick-point and it just stays there. Of course there are a few songs which are an exception but a few songs out of an overall of 14 don’t make the best album.
To sum up Po Kratkom Postupku is not the brightest release in the world, however, it’s rather good for the thrash metal fans because it’s wild and full of energy. No one can deny that the guys from Nadimac are extremely talented and that their fast playing style can inspire headbangers from all over the world to break their necks.
