RESISTANCE – To Judge And Enslave
“To Judge And Enslave” – fourth album for the Belgian extreme deathcore band Resistance. A part of the Bulgarian metalheads knows them as one of the support bands on Death Angel’s concert in Sofia on March 2011.
The album starts with one magnificent instrumental – “The Descent”! Not another melodic story, typical for the instrumentals. Actually the track has a pretty heavy sound. From now on starts the main part of the album, which is a combination of brutal tracks, hardcore, vocals in grindcore style and blast beats.
All 10 songs are very well positioned and make the album sound awesome. Lets leave the instrumental aside… if you like the second song, you automatically continue listening without stopping or skipping any track. The album is pretty absorbing, if I can say it like that.
It looks like the most impressive track of the album is the fifth – “E.n.s.l.a.v.e.d.”. Actually there is a guest vocalist in it – Leif Jensen (Dew Scented), and maybe exactly he makes that strong sounding of the song.
Song number 6 – “Nihil”. In the very first moment you might guess it is another instrumental, but that’s not true. The track starts with heavy and slow oldschool rhythm, in the middle you will hear the typical deathcore “screams”, a bit enhanced by deep death metal vox. “Traitor” and “Brutalized” are with the fastest tempo, so fans of the blast beat might like them a lot. We have one very nice end of the album in the face of “Clench My Fist At God”.
