Интервю с Adam Waleszyński (TIDES FROM NEBULA)

We are going back in full force as a four piece for the first time since 2012. We can’t wait to play in your country. We prepared one old song which we never played outside Poland and also we played it only couple of times live. Hope that we will surprise you guys!

MH18: Instrumental post—rock is among the most unconventional and complicated sub-genres. How did you decide this was the pertinent way of self-expression for you?

It came out naturally. At the beginning we were looking for a vocalist but we never found one. After some time we decided that energy that is between us is so great that we do not need one more person in a band. And post rock was never in our mind. To be honest we found out about that genre after we done couple of first songs. We were influenced (and still are) by totally different kind of sounds.

MH18: What is the hidden message in your music and do you think your audience understands it?

There is none. When we write we write for ourselves and we leave the interpretation to our listeners. Music speaks for itself, it doesn’t need help. Some of the titles are the hints of emotions we were trying to push into the songs, but they do not point any message or story.

MH18: What are your sources of inspiration?

World itself. Its full of emotions  that can be translated into sounds. There is a ton of inspiration all around. In the books, movies, TV dramas, computer games, nature and society.

MH18: How would you describe „Safehaven“/your music with one quote only?

„Catching the sound of universe“

MH18: How have you changed since the beginning of your career as a band?

We are more aware of what we are doing. First album was metalish and now we prefer to focus on melodies and atmosphere.

MH18: Could you tell us more information regarding „Safehaven“? Did you face any difficulties in the process of creating it? Which is your favorite composition from It? Did the results match your expectations?

It’s always the same problem for us with every album. It takes a lot of time to compose. We are not skilled musicians and we are very peeky so it takes time for us until we get to the point when everyone is happy with the result. So logically when we finish we are always super excited with the new album and that is why its hard for me to pick one composition. I love all of them, each one for something else.

MH18: You are on a European tour right now, which destination has the best atmosphere?

It’s hard to tell. We love all the places we visit and all the people who attend our shows. Each of them for something else.

MH18: In comparison to „Live Sessions“ tracklist the names of the compositions in „Safehaven“ are more unambiguous and somewhat minimalistic. Could you tell us about the conception behind them?

There is no conception. For every each of us the titles means something different and very often something private.

MH18: Tell us how it all began. Whose was the idea to form the band?

We just met online. Me and Przemek played together for 2 years already and Maciej and Tomek were in a band called ROOT for 6 years before. We found each other online when we put out the word that we want to play something with a lot of space and air. We met for the first rehearsal and did one song right away. Energy was so strong that 10 years after we are still doing it together.

MH18: What do you do in your leisure time? How do you take a break from the world?

I love computer games and good books. Running away to the other worlds is always very good. Anyways, the real world is a great place and running from it very often is a waste of time.

MH18: One last question – You have already been to Bulgaria five times. Tell us and our readers what have you prepared for Sofia and what we should expect from the concert?
