My leitmotif along this EP: „Oh, I want to hear it again!“. Guess it’s a good thing CDs don’t wear out! I am not sure what exactly got me most – were it the melodies or the guitars, or the singing of the charming Margarita Monet. Or the combination between those tree.
About one thing, however, I was sure right from the begining – the superlatives are falling down like snowflakes during a cold winter’s day. As if Edge of Paradise are the more melodic and maybe even gothic version of In This Moment.

Still the opening Perfect Shade of Black is one big breakthrough/down. The right thing is happening in the right place and so it goes not only in the song, but in the recording as a whole.

Next up – don’t get mislead by the calm start of In a Dream. That one is an intensive track with tones of blast and will keep you strangled until its very end.
Break Away catches my attention with playful riffs and vocal performance at a quite high level. If I have to be honest – and I must be, actually – it stucks in the head very easily.

The heaviest it gets in Perfect Shade of Black is definately Ghost. Darkness pours out of the song and creeps into your mind.
One more reassurance that the EP is in a lot of ways „the …est“ or „most“ is the strongest Crash and Burn. Explosive, dynamic and most of all lively, the bonus is a feast for the ears.

For being so close to perfect
