I’m not in the habit of reviewing singles, but I felt it was a good idea to make an exception for REBOOT THE SYSTEM . I introduced you to this project a few months ago ( remember? ), and recently Mattias Zimmergren, the man behind it sent me info about the new song.

Officially, the record comes out in a few days – on January 6, and I, listening to it today, made myself a very nice birthday present. (Pour yourself a beer, my treat!)

As I mentioned in the previous review, the vocals are the only thing Mattias doesn’t do in the project. In this case, we hear again Dennis Kare Andersson (KILL THE KONG), and his parts are a pretty good hit.

For me personally, the whole track is one step higher than the „Reboot The System“ EP, which makes me think that when it’s time for the project to get a full-length album, Mattias will make a debut that many bands can envy and learn from…

„The Truth That Lies Beneath“ has a polished but heavy sound that even fans of technical death would love. When I hear about modern melo-death, that’s the sound I imagine.
