Ctulu – Sarkomand
On 7th of May this year appeared on the market Ctulu’s new album – Sarkomand. The music is old school Norwegian black metal in a way, but definitely there are many other elements, which contribute for the better sound of the songs. In combination with the clear, prevailing drum parts, which are specific and normal for this style of metal, there is much more rhythm and melody. The lyrics are in German language, written by the guitarist Mathias and the bass-guitarist Arne. The main theme is about death, how it comes unexpected, what kind of feelings brings, presented cold-blooded, of course.
The vocalist Rolf has an enviable voice, as well the drummer Jan succeed very good with in a places quite difficult drum parts. One of the lyrics, which impressed me very much, and the song as well, is Traumturm. The last strophe soind like that:
Instinkte der Alten
Lange versunken
Tot aber träumend
Niemals verschmunden…
In German it sounds very good, than translated in Bulgarian, because the strophe has its rhyme. The cover artwork is also interesting, it represents some kind of ruins of a city, in the centre there is a tower, may be the mentioned Traumturm. In the background you can notice the moon and behind her some other sphere, which is the probably the sun and the sun couldn’t fin place in this shadowy city. The album is very rhythmic and doesn’t lumber with an equality of the songs.
