my-dear-addiction-kill-the-silenceFounded back in the beginning of the previous decade under a different name, the Swedes of MY DEAR ADDICTION appear to have a long story behind their backs. Anyway, the fresh start, which MDA seem to be, dates back in 2010 after numerous line-up changes and with a debut record, unambiguously called “New Blood”. Six years later, the band makes its way to our ears with its second release. You can hear the Gothenburg scene’s influence behind every single note in “Kill The Silence” – it‘s like it is already genetically determined to all the bands, which appear lately in these latitudes. MY DEAR ADDICTION have mastered the art of composing unbelievably catchy songs with enormous radio potential; they also like electronic samples without overusing them and without forgetting to be… metal. “Kill The Silence” is one of those little musical treasures, meant to be found when you least expected and which you just can’t stop listening to. Because despite the commercial focus of the album, the most important ingredient hasn’t been taken away – this thing has a soul.
