SAXON с колекция от 4 диска

Saxon са една от движещите сили в британския хеви метъл за последните тридесет години и до ден днешен продължават да са толкова активни както през 1977 г., когато е създадена групата, чак до юни 2011, когато излиза 19-ят им студиен албум ‘Call To Arms’. Благодарение на неуморните им концертни обиколки и създаването на нова и нова музика Saxon се радват на една от най-лоялните фен бази в историята на рока и на супер фенове като Metallica, Ози Озбърн, Motley Crue и дори Лейди Гага.

В настоящата колекция ‘The Carrere Years (1979-1984)’ са събрани първите седем албума на групата, излезли под шапката на френския лейбъл Carrere – една компилация от 4 диска с ремастерирани албуми, обогатени с бонус материали и ексклузивни интервюта с членовете на бандата.

Бокс сетът започва с едноименния албум на Saxon, който тук включва бонус лайв изпълнение на ‘Judgement Day’), следван от проекта , ‘Wheels Of Steel’, достигнал до №5 в британската класация за продажба на албуми, който е пълен с класики на Saxon като ‘Motorcycle Man’, ‘Suzi Hold On’, ‘747 (Strangers In The Night)’ и заглавното парче.

CD2 от колекцията започва с третия албум на Saxon, ‘Strong Arm Of The Law’ (излиза през октомври 1980), с отварящо парче ‘Heavy Metal Thunder’, следвано от ‘Wheels Of Steel’, ‘Strong Arm Of The Law’ и много песни, които са емблематични за лайв изпълненията на Saxon и до днес, сред които ’20,000 Feet’, ‘Hungry Years’ и ‘Dallas 1pm’ – песен за убийството на Джон Кенеди.

Втората половина на CD2 е заета от четвъртия студиен албум на бандата – ‘Denim & Leather’. С премиера през 1981 г., продукцията разкрива групата в нейния комерсиален и творчески подем и включва хитове като ‘Princess Of The Night’, ‘Never Surrender’ и трибют на тяхното участие в първия Castle Donington фестивал (днес Download) –  ‘And The Bands Played On’.

‘The Carrere Years’ продължава с петия студиен албум на Saxon, ‘Power & The Glory’, разширен с три лайв би-сайдс парчета от заглавния сингъл и от ‘Nightmare’. На финала на сета е ремастерираната версия на ‘Crusader’, който за първи път излиза през 1984 г. и е продуциран от Kevin Beamish в студио Sound City в Лос Анжелис.
